Great strikers poacher goal that, anticipation while Palace defence were asleep. That's what he does and why he's worth a berth

Another goal for the pea, we need to hang on to him in January.

Re: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez - signed
From memory he didn’t actually do much in the game beside score the goals. He’s a pure goalscorer, so if we’re dominating a game and creating good chances then he’s invaluable. If we’re on the back foot and not creating clear chances then he’s not got enough of an all-round game to make a difference.

As I said before. Great player. Not sure he fits our system.

Can not play him up top on his own. Just doesn't work.

Play him with a big fella as part of a front 2. He'll score goals. Just that most teams don't/ won't put 2 up top anymore.

Re: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez - signed
Hopefully he's a reincarnation of Pop Robson, we've missed so many chances to score by not having someone lurking in the goal box to poke in crosses and pounce on rebounds from the woodwork or when opposition keepers don't datch the ball cleanly

He's a top quality finisher. Hoping he gets a lot more game time.

Sum 9.o5

He is indeed an asset..Third highest scorer coming off the bench apparently.

Think he deserves to start a few though. Really positive we could have a good run if we can stick with yesterdays starting 11. Hope Cresswell is fit for next week. He was very good until he had to come off yesterday.

Oooh imagine him and David Villa up front.... goals galore

I love his reefer toking goal celebration he’s been doing. Is he campaigning for legalisation in Mexico, or what?

Re: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez - signed
His pass out of midfield when under pressure yesterday was so good, Arnie didn’t know what to do with it. He’s been working on his positioning when defending corners as well. We’re agreed he needs to start in a 442.

I'd go along with that Andy ( playing 4 4 2 ).

Fingers crossed about the 7 - 8 goals. Im generally positive about West Ham at the moment, but am always wary of some catastrophe coming along and fucking things up!!

Re: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez - signed
I can see us going 442 for all of this run of 7 games. We’ve got much better players than all of those teams, and we should score goals in all of the games. There’s every possibility Hernandez will get 7 or 8 in that run of fixtures.

Re: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez - signed
In the modern game it's a tough one with a player like Hernandez. On one hand his all round ability and contribution over 90 mins is usually not great, but on the other hand he's a goalscorer who are still worth their weight in gold. Fwiw, I don't see him nailing down a regular starting berth, as 1 or 2 games without notching and he'll be dropped.

Re: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez - signed
Thanks to Skysports, there's an obsession nowadays, about strikers missing chances. Years ago, a striker used to be lauded, even if he missed a few chances but still puts a couple away - it showed that he had mental strength to not let missing chances affect him. Sky Sports over analysis, has created the obsession.

When given support and chances, Hernandez is an asset.

Thing is, you can't play 4 4 2 every week ( i didnt watch the game, i assume we played 4 4 2? ).

Always think he's a great option though, to have when a game is stretched.

Would be great if he goes on a bit of a scoring run - we shall see!

Re: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez - signed
Arnautovic has a massive ego, but he need to fucking get some sense of perspective. He’s not a great finisher.

Hernández is a much better finisher, even if he brings less around the pitch.

If he starts games regular he'll score the goals we need

MIICHAEL!!

I knew someone would be a sourpuss and grumpy pants, but I'm DISAPPOINTED that it was you.

Where can we find a player that NEVER misses a chance? Obviously Ronaldo and Messi don't fit the bill, so who is it?
